Regioselective alkylation of 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran by xanthate-mediated free radical nonchain process

An intermolecular xanthate-mediated free radical nonchain reaction is introduced for the regioselective alkylation of 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran. Additionally, we observed that the free radical nonchain reaction depends on the nature of the free radical precursor.
