Thin films deposited by femtosecond pulsed laser ablation of tungsten carbide

► We have deposited amorphous tungsten carbide films by ultra-short PLD. ► In the films different W-C phases are present. ► The films are formed mainly by particles with nanometric size. ► We propose that the particles are directly ejected from the target.
