Effect of the surface roughness on interfacial properties of carbon fibers reinforced epoxy resin composites

▶ Aqueous ammonia significantly improve the surface roughness of carbon fibers. ▶ Aqueous ammonia does not obviously change chemical compositions of carbon fibers. ▶ The surface roughness of fibers increases with the increase of the treating time. ▶ Treated fiber with big surface roughness has better interfacial adhesion with resin.
