Fabrication and surface photovoltage study of hematite microparticles with hollow spindle-shaped structure

► Hollow α-Fe2O3 microparticles with spindle-shaped microstructure were fabricated. ► The hollow α-Fe2O3 microparticles mainly grew along the (1 0 4) crystal plane. ► The α-Fe2O3 microparticles exhibited pronounced surface photovoltage response.
