Thickness dependent band gap and effective mass of BN/graphene/BN and graphene/BN/graphene heterostructures

► Thickness dependent band gap and effective mass of BN/graphene/BN and graphene/BN/graphene have been explored. ► The band gap of BN/graphene/BN is much larger than that of graphene/BN/graphene. ► In BN/graphene/BN, we observe linear dispersion regardless of BN thickness. ► The thickness dependent effective mass is also discussed.
