Ti-based alloys containing Fe, Au, and Nb were produced by a tilt-casting method, subjected to a subsequent dual-axially forging operation, with their properties being studied. The research evidenced that though Ti94Fe3Au3 and Ti94Fe3Nb3 alloys had relatively high biocompatibility, they were very brittle during tensile tests. The dual-axially forged Ti94Au3Nb3 alloy exhibited relatively good tensile mechanical properties (tensile strength up to 740Â MPa, elongation of â¼13% and elastic module of â¼85Â MPa). The average value of the hemolysis of the Ti94Au3Nb3 alloy was found to be around 0.01896%. The Ti94Au3Nb3 alloy showed a good potential to be applied as a biomaterial.
