Measurement of B‾→D(⁎)τ−ν‾τ at Belle

The decays B‾→D(⁎)τ−ν‾τ teresting decay modes in terms of the sensitivity to new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). In this paper, three measurements from Belle are overviewed. In these measurements, ratios of the branching fractions R(D(⁎))=BF(B‾→D(⁎)τ−ν‾τ)/BF(B‾→D(⁎)ℓν‾ℓ) where ℓ denotes an electron or a muon, have been studied. The average of R(D(⁎)) shows a discrepancy of about 2σ from the SM prediction. Including the measurements at BaBar and LHCb, the discrepancy is about 4σ. In the latest B‾→D⁎τ−ν‾τ measured for the first time. The result is consistent with the SM prediction, although with a sizable uncertainty. Further investigation of the R(D(⁎)) puzzle and the polarization measurement are the important topics at Belle II.
