Characterization of major natural and anthropogenic source profiles for size-fractionated PM in Yangtze River Delta

Figures show the dominated chemical compositions of major natural and anthropogenic PM10 and PM2.1 source profiles such as fugitive dust (FD), soil dust (SD), construction dust (CD), coal-fired power plant (CFP), garbage-fired power plant (GFP), straw burning (SB), cooking smoke (COOK), vehicle exhaust (VE), smelting dust (SMD), textile industry (TI), cement (CEM), ceramic industry (CER) and electroplating (ELE) in the Yangtze River Delta. These components are classified as carbonaceous (OC and EC), crustal elements (Al, Ca, Fe, Mg) and SNA (sulfate and nitrate aerosols). The abundances of carbonaceous are rich in VE, COOK and GFP; the crustal elements represent high percentages at SD, CD, FD, SMD, CEM and CER; the abundances of SNA are dominant at SMD, COOK and SD.61
