Guanidylated hollow fiber membranes based on brominated poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (BPPO) for gold sorption from acid solutions

► Guanidylated PPO HFMs are firstly prepared and used for gold sorption. ► HPCA is used for the guanidylation process with environmental benignity. ► The GPPO HFMs show high sorption content and considerable selectivity toward gold anions. ► Complexation is the main mechanism for the gold sorption.
