Thermal stabilities of drops of burning thermoplastics under the UL 94 vertical test conditions

► The pool fire of thermoplastics might be related with the properties of drops. ► The thermal stabilities of burning polymers' drops were studied by thermogravimetry. ► The mass retention curve of drop nearly overlaps with that of respective polymer. ► The kinetic compensation effect exists for polymers and their drops. ► The drop of blend is composed of the continuous phase with higher thermal stability.
