► We assay the single and joint effects of MCLR and LAS on duckweed (Lemna minor). ► We examine the MCLR accumulation in Lemna minor with or without LAS. ► Interaction between MCLR and LAS was synergistic. ► LAS enhances the accumulation of MCLR in Lemna minor.
