Preparation of lead oxide nanoparticles from cathode-ray tube funnel glass by self-propagating method

► A novel process of recovering lead from spent CRT funnel glass based upon self-propagation high-temperature synthesis (SHS) method was established. ► Lead oxide nanoparticles were prepared synchronously after SHS treatment. ► Funnel glass was changed into environmental-friendly refractory material during the synthesis of lead oxide nanoparticles.
