► We treated Wistar rats with PM10 at various concentrations. ► We explored endothelial mediators, inflammatory cytokines, apoptosis-related genes. ► PM10 exerted injuries to mammals' brain. ► The damage mechanisms were associated with endothelial dysfunction and inflammation.
