A novel and efficient epoxy/chitosan cement slurry for use in severe acidic environments of oil wells-Structural characterization and kinetic modeling

► A novel and efficient epoxy/chitosan cement slurry was synthesized. ► The crystalline patterns of the slurry were preserved after interaction with HCl. ► The HCl interaction on the new slurry were well fitted to a three-parameter model. ► Surface reactions are the majority of the interactions cement slurry/HCl. ► The cement slurry has good potential for environmental-friendly oil well operations.
