High-strength hydrogel as a reusable adsorbent of copper ions

► A high strength OEGMA/VDT hydrogel was synthesized. ► The hydrogel can adsorb Cu2+ ions with little loss in mechanical properties. ► The hydrogel can be used repeatedly with stable adsorption capacities.
