Sequestration of carbon dioxide by indirect mineralization using Victorian brown coal fly ash

► The indirect CO2 mineralization by brown coal fly ash has been tested. ► A large CO2 capture capacity of fly ash under mild conditions was achieved. ► The kinetic analysis confirmed a fast reaction rate with low activation energy. ► The fly ash based capture process is highly efficient and cost-effective.
