Effect of low molecular weight organic acids on phosphorus adsorption by ferric-alum water treatment residuals

► Organic acid (OA) effects on P absorbed by water treatment residues were studied. ► The effect of OA was changed from inhibition to promotion with increased time. ► Higher pH values likely enhanced P adsorption with the effects of OA. ► Different OA showed the different effects of P absorbed by water treatment residues.
