Application of dolochar in the removal of cadmium and hexavalent chromium ions from aqueous solutions

► Dolochar, a waste material is generated during the production of sponge iron. ► Dolochar consists of metallic iron, carbon, and lime bearing phases along with lots of voids and pores. ► It was found to be an good adsorbent for the removal of cadmium and hexavalent chromium ions from aqueous solutions. ► The adsorption follows Langmuir isotherm and kinetics of adsorption better fit of pseudo second order model.
