Induction of Dickkopf-1 contributes to the neurotoxicity of MPP+ in PC12 cells via inhibition of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway

► Dkk1 was induced and the increase of Dkk1 precedes the PC12 cells loss. ► Dkk1 contributed to the MPP+-induced neurotoxicity via inhibition of Wnt signaling pathway. ► Dkk1 antagonists may be a potential target in the treatment of PD.
