UCCB01-125, a dimeric inhibitor of PSD-95, reduces inflammatory pain without disrupting cognitive or motor performance: Comparison with the NMDA receptor antagonist MK-801

► NMDA receptor-mediated nitric oxide production depends on NMDA/PSD-95/nNOS coupling. ► NMDAR antagonism (MK-801) and PSD-95 inhibition (UCCB01-125) reduced inflammatory pain. ► The analgesic dose of MK-801 was associated with cognitive and motor side effects. ► Supra-analgesic doses of UCCB01-125 were devoid of cognitive and motor side-effects.
