Irsogladine maleate regulates the inflammatory related genes in human gingival epithelial cells stimulated by Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans

► Irsogladine maleate suppressed the onset of periodontal disease in a rat model. ► To profile of the effects of IM, DNA microarray analysis was used. ► IM suppressed the A. actinomycetemcomitans-induced increase in MMP-3, IL-6, and ICAM-1 in gingival epithelial cells. ► These data imply that IM is useful for the prevention of periodontal disease.
