Bucillamine inhibits CD40-mediated Akt activation and antibody production in mouse B‐cell lymphoma

► We investigated the effects of SA981 on CD40-mediated antibody production. ► SA981, a metabolite of bucillamine, attenuated the IgM production. ► SA981 attenuated CD40-mediated Akt phosphorylation. ► Commercially available Akt inhibitor attenuated CD40-mediated IgM production. ► SA981 inhibits the IgM production, in part, by attenuation of Akt phosphorylation.
