3,4,5-Tricaffeoylquinic acid inhibits tumor necrosis factor-α-stimulated production of inflammatory mediators in keratinocytes via suppression of Akt- and NF-κB-pathways

► 3,4,5-Tricaffeoylquinic acid attenuates the activation of Akt and NF-κB pathways. ► The effect is mediated via suppression of reactive oxygen species formation. ► The preventive action may induce inhibition of TNF-α-stimulated inflammatory mediator production. ► The compound seems to prevent the pro-inflammatory mediator-induced skin disease.
