Immunomodulatory effects of testosterone evaluated in all-trans retinoic acid differentiated HL-60 cells, granulocytes, and monocytes

► Testosterone inhibits generation of reactive oxygen species in human granulocytes. ► Testosterone inhibits release of interleukin 8 in human monocytes. ► Similar results were obtained in ATRA differentiated HL-60 cells. ► Flutamide was unable to antagonize testosterone immunosuppression.
