An in vitro and in vivo toxicologic evaluation of a stabilized aloe vera gel supplement drink in mice

► A stabilized aloe vera gel drink was tested for genotoxicity in vitro. ► The stabilized aloe gel was evaluated for acute and subchronic toxicity in mice. ► No evidence of toxic effects was observed after oral acute administration. ► No toxic effects were noted through necropsy, hematology or clinical chemistry. ► Aloe gel consumption did not affect weight during a 13-week feed study.
