Phenols of virgin olive oil protects nuclear DNA against oxidative damage in HeLa cells

► OOPE prevented 750 μM H2O2-induced nuclear DNA damage. ► Yet OOPE did not have any protective effects on mitochondrial DNA damage. ► Treatment alone with OOPE did not change the steady-state levels of DNA damage.
