Evaluation of the genotoxicity of the food additive, gum ghatti
چکیده انگلیسی
► Consumers worldwide could benefit from expanded use of gum ghatti in food products. ► Gum ghatti was tested in a full battery of GLP compliant genotoxicity assays. ► Tests included Ames, chromosome aberration, and in vivo micronucleus/Comet assays. ► No evidence of genotoxicity was observed up to concentrations exceeding the maximum levels recommended by OECD guidelines. ► Gum ghatti is safe for human consumption at higher than currently accepted limits.
