Characterization of deoxynivalenol-induced anorexia using mouse bioassay

► We model induction of deoxynivalenol-induced anorexia in the mouse. ► The toxin's effects on food intake were transient, lasting up to 6 h. ► A subsequent dose-dependent orexigenic response afterward. ► The bioassay will be used to understand trichothecene-induced anorexia.
