Lim mineralization protein is involved in the premature calvarial ossification in sporadic craniosynostoses

► Calvarial MSC isolated from synostoses displayed a constitutive osteogenic activity. ► They expressed higher levels of LMP and target genes compared to normal suture cells. ► The overactive osteogenic phenotype was corrected when LMP expression was silenced. ► LMP silencing induced down-regulation of osteo-specific transcription factors.
