Effect of pioglitazone therapy in lean type1 diabetes mellitus

Pioglitazone is modestly effective adjunct to insulin therapy in lean type1 diabetic subjects. It improves post-prandial glucose levels and HbA1c without alterations in body weight and insulin requirement.
