A new molecular approach for cidal vs static antimalarial determination by quantifying mRNA levels

► To provide a way to measure the cidal/static profile of an antimalarial in vitro. ► This method has been validated with known antimalarials. ► It was also used to follow the production of gametocytes induced by certain drugs. ► It has been used to calculate the minimal parasite-cidal concentration. ► It will help to priories if included in the critical path of drug development.
