Facile surface PEGylation via tyrosinase-catalyzed oxidative reaction for the preparation of non-fouling surfaces

► A facile surface PEGylation method was developed using tyrosinase. ► PEG was immobilized by a simple immersion method. ► The conjugated PEG inhibited protein and cell adhesion. ► The PEGylated substrates showed an excellent non-fouling effect.
