Highly sensitive determination of capsaicin using a carbon paste electrode modified with amino-functionalized mesoporous silica

► Mesoporous silica modified electrodes showed excellent electrooxidation activity in the presence of capsaicin. ► The current response was dramatically improved when NH2 was introduced to the surface of a modified electrode. ► A new quantification method was constructed. ► The described method is much more sensitive in comparison with the electroanalytical method reported previously.
