A novel method for reliable and fast extraction of neuronal EEG/MEG oscillations on the basis of spatio-spectral decomposition

► We present a novel method (SSD) for fast extraction of neuronal oscillations. ► SSD optimizes the signal-to-noise ratio of the extracted oscillations. ► Our simulations showed that SSD recovers sources with very little error. ► SSD extracted real EEG/MEG oscillations with high signal-to-noise ratio.
