Interaction between tetracycline and smectite in aqueous solution

Desorption of metal cations and co-adsorption of H+ accompanying tetracycline adsorption confirmed experimentally that cation exchange was the major mechanism of tetracycline intercalation in smectite minerals even in zwitterionic form.
