Letter to the EditorPharmacokinetics and preliminary safety of high dose linezolid for the treatment of Gram-positive bacterial infections

- A pharmacokinetic study was performed in patients receiving linezolid 600 mg 8-hourly.
- At the time of commencing the high dose, all patients had normal platelet count.
- All patients but one, who discontinued linezolid, achieved clinical success.
- Overexposure was more commonly seen in patients with toxicity compared to those without it.
