Initiation and growth of gaseous cavity in concentrated contact in various surrounding gases

► Cavity grows in two stages. ► Cavity growth in the initial stage does not depend on dissolved gas. ► Cavity growth in second stage depends on dissolved gas. ► In separating test, cavity growth has same behaviour as that in sliding test. ► Cavity growth in initial stage relates with rapid evolution of negative pressure.
