Particulate lubricants in cosmetic applications

► In partially lubricated conditions particles affect the lubricating properties of suspensions. ► Friction is dependent upon evaporation of aqueous suspension and accumulation of particles. ► By varying the particle size and concentration the time dependent behaviour can be controlled. ► Dry particles reduce friction due to a loss of interfacial adhesion between the PDMS surfaces.
