Liquid flow pattern around Taylor bubbles in an etched rectangular microchannel

► Taylor bubbles with low velocities and short lengths were generated by heating the micro-channel to 35-55 °C. ► 3D strong liquid recirculation flows in front of a Taylor bubble head and behind the bubble tail were measured. ► The liquid flow through the microchannel corners with a high velocity up to 3.5-3.8 times the bubble velocity was observed. The liquid flow actually drove the liquid recirculation flows.
