Permeation of organic solutes in water-ethanol mixtures with nanofiltration membranes

► We analyzed the nanofiltration of various organic solutes in water-ethanol mixtures. ► Permeability constant decreased significantly with the increase on ethanol content. ► The organic solute retention was significantly reduced in the presence of ethanol. ► The experimental data were fitted by the extended Spiegler-Kedem model.
