Study on concentration of aqueous sulfuric acid solution by multiple-effect membrane distillation

► Multiple-effect membrane distillation with high performance ratio was developed. ► Internal heat recovery was realized by using the unique configuration of hollow fiber air-gap membrane distillation module. ► The maximum performance ratio obtained was 11.5. ► A long-term operational stability was tested well for > 30 days.
