Application and validation of ion chromatography for the analysis of power plants water: Analysis of corrosive anions in conditioned water-steam cycles

► For analysis of anions at trace level high volume suppressed IC method was developed. ► The validation of the IC method was studied in terms of linearity, sensitivity, precision and accuracy. ► The IC method has been successfully evaluated by analyzing water samples from the TPP Nikola Tesla. ► The diagnostic and control parameters were optimized in the water-steam cycle. ► Chloride and sulphate ions were recognized as ions which indicate of corrosion in water steam cycle.
