Bio-sorption of cadmium and nickel ions using Spirulina platensis: Kinetic and equilibrium studies

► We examine the sorption of Cd2+ and Ni2+ on S. platensis at various conditions. ► Rapid sorption of Cd2+ and Ni2+ ions was observed during the first 60 min of adsorption. ► The sorption of Cd2+ and Ni2+ ions could be based on the assumption of the Langmuir model.
