Rs1076560, a functional variant of the dopamine D2 receptor gene, confers risk of schizophrenia in Han Chinese

► We first report the association of the functional variant rs1076560 in DRD2 with schizophrenia. ► The association has been confirmed in a two-stage study in two independent Han Chinese samples. ► Our validation sample is large enough to have 80% power to detect OR = 1.15 for allelic association.
