Effects of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) on retinal dopaminergic system in mice

► We examine effects of methamphetamine and MPTP on the retinal dopaminergic system. ► Neither low or high dose of methamphetamine affected dopamine or its metabolites. ► Low-dose MPTP significantly decreased DOPAC and HVA concentration. ► High dose MPTP produced significant depletion of both DA and its metabolites.
