N400 modulation by categorical or associative interference in a famous face naming task

► Is the organization of semantic information relating to known persons categorical or associative? ► In this ERPs study, an interference paradigm with delayed face naming was used. ► Faces were preceded by an associative name vs. name of same category vs. noise. ► The results showed a more negative N400 amplitude for the associative condition. ► This is consistent with an associative organization of proper name's informations.
