Acetylsalicylic acid as an augmentation agent in fluoxetine treatment resistant depressive rats

► 20-30% of the depressive rats did not respond to fluoxetine treatment. ► The higher level of COX-2 and PGE2 concentration were expressed in hippocampus. ► Aspirin augmentation reversed the depressive-like behavioral changes. ► Aspirin augmentation decreased the level of COX-2 and the PGE2 concentration.
