Localization of hypothalamic insulin receptor in neonatal chicks: Evidence for insulinergic system control of feeding behavior

► We demonstrated localization of hypothalamic insulin receptor in neonatal chicks. ► Immunostainings were detected several nucleus which is concerned with feeding. ► Insulin receptors were co-immunostained with both α-MSH and NPY neurons. ► Insulin-induced feeding contributes to activation of melanocortin system in chicks.
