Implanted spike wave electric stimulation promotes survival of the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and functional recovery in the spinal cord injured rats

▶ The first report of implanted spike wave electric stimulation could exert effects on BMSCs in vivo. ▶ The safety was confirmed in implanted electric stimulation control group. ▶ Locomotor function and SSEP was significantly improved in BMSCs + ES-treated group. ▶ The axon regeneration effect was confirmed by diffusion tensor imaging.
