Identification of α-11 giardin as a flagellar and surface component of Giardia lamblia

- Preparation of crude flagellar extracts resulted in isolation of several surface components of G. lamblia.
- Expression of α-11 giardin was not modulated significantly during encystation.
- α-11 giardin was found to be plasma membrane- and flagella-associated in G. lamblia trophozoite.
